Where does key programming begin?

Choosing the right application starts with considering the vehicle system, key type and required operation together.

Mechanical key and electronic pairing

A key fitting the lock mechanically does not mean it has been paired electronically with the vehicle. Compatibility between the transponder or smart key and the immobilizer is assessed separately. Remote door unlocking and engine starting are also separate functions.

Cloning and vehicle pairing

Cloning transfers data from a supported key to a compatible transponder. Vehicle pairing is a different application that registers a key with the vehicle system. Not every key can be cloned, and the same pairing method does not apply to every vehicle.

Zed-FULL plus offers transponder operations and OBD key pairing as separate application groups. The software and accessories needed should be checked against the requirements of the selected application.

Three checks before starting

First identify the make, model, production year and immobilizer system. Then establish whether a working key is available: spare-key and all-keys-lost situations may have different coverage. Finally, check the current application list for the supported operation, required cable and software conditions.

This preparation avoids choosing an application based only on the vehicle brand. If the system is uncertain, contact technical support with the vehicle and key details before starting.
